KABUL, Dec. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- The strong earthquake measuring 6.7 on Richter scale jolted Afghanistan Tuesday morning, leaving at least 11 injured in the country.
"Ten persons including three children have got minor injuries in the northern province of Badakhshan," Yousuf Stanizai, spokesman of interior ministry told Xinhua.
Earlier in the day, officials in the eastern Nangarhar provinceconfirmed the injury of a lady in Jalalabad city the provincial capital when the roof of her house caved in.
The earthquake hit Afghanistan and Pakistan early Tuesday morning, the epicenter is believed in the Hindu Kush range in Badakhshan.
Over 100 houses have been completely or partially damaged in Shar-e-Buzarg and Yamgan districts of Badakhshan province, and around 400 domestic animals were also killed in the tremor.
The Afghan government is still trying to connect with the remote areas.
A strong earthquake about 7.6 magnitude happened on Oct. 8 in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, and affected the surrounding Afghanistan and India. More than 70,000 people died and more than half a million were left homeless in that disaster.
