Photo: 1906: Postcard titled: "Result of Earthquake in Street in San Francisco, Cal."
This was a strange, unsettling vision. I didn't discern the exact location, but I could see a major metropolitan city with high mountains in the background of the picture. The air appeared very clear with a warmer temperature (even though it is February and the heart of winter), and bright sunshine blanketed the surrounding scene bouncing off the glass window panels in downtown office buildings. People walking on the street were smiling because it was such a beautiful day. Many of them were wearing shorts and short-sleeve shirts because of the warm weather. Suddenly, without warning, the sidewalk began to buckle and large cracks opened up in the street. People began to sway back and forth off-balance as they tried to avoid stepping in the recently-opened cracks.
This was a "large" (not a minor) earthquake scene and the time-period indicated it was near. The obvious location would be in the western United States (perhaps San Francisco or other California area) due to the warmer temperature.
