According to a communiqué issued by the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Palestine today, June 29, 2006, the group claims to have launched this morning a rocket containing a chemical warhead at the southern Israeli city of Sderot, near the Gaza Strip. They state that the chemicals will be airborne and enter the bodies of the “Zionists” either by inhalation or when the substances touch the skin, causing a “state of continuous horror, terror and undoubted death” amongst the populous. This operation was conducted within a “holy patriotic calling” and the group adds that the “racist policy” of the Israeli government must be revised and leaders must think a “thousand times before they commit any dumb adventure”.

The al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Palestine claimed in a statement from June 27, 2006, that they had developed twenty types of biological and chemical weapons, and would not hesitate to use them against continued Israeli aggression against Palestinians.
