USS Enterprise Sailing into Trouble?
September 10, 2007
E. Johnson
I am 20 year retired Navy servicemember, who spent my entire career in the aviation community, which deployed aboard aircraft carriers.
This is my dream: (you may share all or part of this as you are led to do so)
On April 25th, 2007, after completing my morning devotions, I was about to return to bed to go back to sleep when I sensed the Holy Spirit instructing me to lay down where I had been praying. Which I did, and I fell into a very deep sleep.
As I slept I dreamed that I was standing before a stack of cruise boxes, in what seemed to be an underground chamber. There were two "sailors" unpacking these cruise boxes. I never remember seeing their faces, but I recognized that they were part of what is called in Naval terminology " an advanced detachment". An advanced detachment was a group of men from a squadron who were allowed to return home a month early from a deployment for the purpose of preparing the squadron spaces for its return home. The opposite is true for the pre-deployment advanced detachment. I remember thinking in my dream how odd it was that we were in an "underground" facility, much like a tunnel, and not in an aircraft hangar.
Upon recognizing them as part of an advanced detachment, I immeadiately asked this question: "What about my squadron?
To which the one standing opposite me, on the other side of the stack of cruise boxes replied: "They are being deployed overseas for Operation Shofar, and they are not coming back."
Then the one standing to my right said something of which all that I clearly understood was "80 days". At that moment, my wife walked in the room which awakened me from my deep sleep.
One other thing worthy of note, it seemed as if the faces of the two sailors were shrouded by light, and an open cruise box also had a glow about it, so that one could not make out any details.
Since this dream, I have now been made aware of the fact that the first squadron to which I was assigned in the beginning of my career, VAQ-137, (Tactical Electronic Warfare Squadron 137), was being deployed aboard the USS Enterprise, for Pulse 07 to the Eastern Mediterranean Sea for further assignment to the Persion Gulf. The Enterprise was the first carrier assignment for the then newly formed squadron, VAQ-137 (1974), of which I am a plank owner.
The thought that my former squadron and ship would be deploying on a cruise from which they would not return is one I find almost too hard to grasp. I have since come to the understanding that this event could be the Second Trumpet (Shofar) Judgment of Revelation Chapter 8:7; i.e. 1/3 of the ships being destroyed and 1/3 of the life in the sea dying. I also believe the two "sailors" were actually the two witnesses of Revelation 11.
Only what is written in Psalms 60:3 describes my feelings : "You have shewn Your people HARD things; You have made us drink the wine of astonishment."
