Extending Aloha: How to Help Those Affected By The Maui Wildfires – HOLLY NOTE: Biden better not give one more freaking dime to Ukraine until he helps fellow Americans in hell. Most in Lahaina have lost everything because no warning sirens went off like they do every single month alerting to tsunamis.

Then a catastrophic disaster was on hand, no sirens. 2 people spoke that the only reason they knew this wildfire was literally on their doorstep is that they happened to be outside and saw smoke, smelled it. No text message warning, no sirens. Not only have our fellow Americans lost every from their homes and family photos, but lost vehicles, businesses and excruciatingly, their pets. Biden had better step up and do the right thing for a change.

Sizzling Hot Photos From Death Valley National Park In Recent Years – HOLLY NOTE: Some people who have to travel through these blistering-hot areas think that driving at night is the solution. Maybe not.

One season out of many spent at Lake Powell, it was 115º for a number of back-to-back days. Didn't cool down much at night. It was beyond unbearable. We didn't sleep in our power boat's cabin, but opted for the family houseboat.

It was gosh-awful, nasty-ridiculous.

I remember repeatedly jumping in the water, soaking my beach towel and placing it on a padded bench outside. Tried to pass out (sleep) and instead, kept jumping in the water to keep wet.

We all 'slept' in our bikinis and men in their trunks. Jokingly I say 'slept' because sleep was impossible. Can't imagine tacking on another 15º.

People in India often go through heatwaves and drop like flies sprayed with Raid. A trip in this heat is truly dancing with death.

That said, it's not great for our fruit and veggies. It's pegged the 100º-mark several times already. Not much difference 100º and 98º, which the mid-90s is pretty common. Forecast for Monday and Tuesday – 103º though that can change. Hopefully not higher.

Sugar snap and snow pea plants are withering even with daily watering and shade cloth overhead. Tomatoes are HALF the size they should be. Rose blossoms - stunted. Peppers are like do I have to? Lettuce will bolt soon at this rate. The only veggies that are happy are root plants and all varieties of squash.
